Gaming Age
I think if you're already an established Dynasty Warriors fan, then you'll probably love what Strikeforce is doing for the series. Likewise, if you were a fan and fell off the wagon at some point, this is a great game to jump back on with. Finally, if you've never played a DW game before, or if the series hasn't held much appeal, I think Strikeforce can even be the game for you.

As much item collection as it is button mashing, the changes are both dramatic and welcome -- and dramatic enough that KOEI may have actually found a way to shut up some of the haters. OK, like six of 'em.

One of the better Dynasty Warriors games to come along in a while. Unfortunately, these extra elements added to the fairly stale DW formula aren’t quite enough to overlook its shortcomings.

Many new features, a great longevity and a vast and varied characters roster makes this the best game yet in the Dynasty Warriors franchise.

Strikeforce is a step in the right direction for the franchise. It’s the much needed change that the series was crying out for. It’s just shame the console version is a port of the PSP game.

The best of the Dynasty Warriors franchise struggles to compete with modern hack-and-slash games.

Back on track, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is a huge improvement over what the past installments have offered.

The series’ debut of online multiplayer adds replay value to Strikeforce, which is hard to ignore. However, if you’re interested in hack and slash action, there are more polished, next generation games available at fairer prices.

Solo game reveals weak graphics and easy an fight but when you switch to online multiplayer mode you’ll get the best out of this game. [Issue#189]
Game Revolution
Strikeforce is a great step toward finally integrating the online universe with Dynasty Warriors and an unexpected excuse to lower your head as other gamers pass you by. You’re not hiding or hanging your head in shame, you’re just looking for items.

Only small tweaks to an increasingly aging formula. [Apr 2010, p.79]
Console Monster
If you're seriously considering paying over £40 for a game that has barely changed since 2000 then you're probably better off putting that money towards a psych evaluation.

You can instantly tell that Strikeforce originally was a portable game for PSP. The graphics feels dated, the controls are wonky and everything just has a cheap overall feeling. Still, the multiplayer is quite OK and the battles are just huge.

Strikeforce has added a few new additions to the series but all in all it just hasn't done enough with it. In reality the game feels like it should have stayed on the PSP.

On a next-gen console, Strikeforce is a far more humdrum expenditure of time that could be better spent elsewhere. [Issue#93, p.130]
X360 Magazine UK
It's just not very good at all, even for "fans of the series," as people tend to say. [Issue#56, p.90]
Xbox World 360 Magazine UK
As painfully endless and mind-numbing as ever, but it does at least try to add something new. [Apr 2010, p.96]

The worst DW game of this generation. [Mar 2010, p.109]
