Online Gameplay Improved – This year the online gameplay experience has been vastly improved and will detect and respond better to adverse network conditions along with reduced bandwidth to help the speed and flow of online gameplay. User Controlled Pick-Offs – Surprise a base runner with a quick move or lull him to sleep with our new pick-off mechanism. How surprising, then, that MLB 10: The Show isn’t just one of the best sports games available, but with respect to the ratio between ambition and execution, it’s one of the best videogames, period.

Of course no game is EVER perfect, but damn if it doesn't throw a shutout to the other baseball games out there.

Like the Mega Drive Maddens of the early '90s, it's a game absolutely worth learning a new sport for. [May 2010, p.108]
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)
That commitment is made palatable by the quality oozing out of every feature, every visual detail, every pitch, and every hit in The Show--the best baseball game currently available. [Jun 2010, p.74]

MLB10 The Show is as close as anyone has come to baseball perfection.

Although it may not take the crown from the likes of Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr., The Show flirts exceptionally close to baseball perfection.

No baseball game has come close to delivering a complete package like this game does.

A must buy for any baseball fan. It is up there with some of the best baseball games of all time, and is one that deserves to go on your shelf. Sony literally hit it out of the park this year.

MLB 09: The Show was a great Next Gen restart for the franchise, and MLB 10: The Show delivers nicely on that promise.

MLB 10: The Show is still the top baseball sim in the business. There’s still some room for improvement when it comes to controls, but it’s about as close to perfect as you can get.

Nothing captures the flavor of Major League Baseball better or in so many ways. Addictive as can be, even for the casual fan.

If you want to play a console baseball game this year and you have or intend to get a PS3 then, really, choosing MLB ’10: The Show is a no-brainer. It has been and it continues to be the best baseball game on the planet.

MLB 10: The Show is a well made game. I recommend this title if you love baseball; everyone else can find something different to play. The initial difficulty can be frustrating but a complex and rewarding game can be found just beneath the surface.

MLB 10: The Show offers a great game of baseball that has a few rough spots, but has enough additions and enhancements to its biggest modes (Road to the Show and online multiplayer) to make it a worthy upgrade for fans and newbies alike.

MLB 10: The Show is by no means a perfect game, but it comes pretty damn close. No baseball sim delivers the amount of game found here, and more importantly, no other sim accurately portrays the nature of the game better.

MLB 10: The Show is the closest you’ll ever come to experience playing baseball for a Major League Team. The sheer polish and level of detail mostly overcome the share of problems that hinder it.

The depth, the possibilities and the realism make this a must have purchase for those interested in baseball. A title that truly rewards those who commit themselves to the game.

The Show is a pure baseball fanatic's dream come true. With outstanding visuals luring gamers to try it, the gameplay does the rest to seal the deal on this winning experience.

MLB 10: The Show is a great game of baseball and is one that has the staying power to be a game you can continue playing well into the dog days of summer.

This is the absolute pinnacle of baseball video gaming, and I dare someone to do better.

While the outdated player advancement system and questionable AI logic need to be examined for next year's title, this year's edition is by all means solid enough to keep players stepping into the batter's box, onto the mound and behind the plate again and again.

In the spirit of your favorite old-school fighting games, MLB 10 The Show is spectacular – and spectacularly mean.

While the game is not perfect it is a far sight better than previous iterations. Years ago there was a MVP baseball game on the PC that was top-drawer (IMO) and MLB 10 rivals, if not exceeds, that. Top to bottom, this is an entertaining game to look at and play.

MLB 10 edges very close to being the best console baseball game ever made. But it doesn't quite make it there. It's still great, just not baseball perfection.

If you own a Playstation 3 and enjoy Baseball, then you need to purchase 'MLB10: The Show'. This game, like previous editions, is a stand out homerun that will keep players busy all season long.

While still retaining its crown as the best baseball game on the market due to its realism and depth, that crown has lost some of its original shine. MLB 10: The Show's improvements since last year's version are more skips than strides.

While MLB 10 The Show remains the best baseball videogame money can buy, it’s no longer light-years ahead of 2K Sports’ effort. Is it better than MLB 09? Definitely, but not by a wide margin.

High production values, attention to detail, and an incredible number of features and options jam-packed into the shiny package. With adjustments to pitching and hitting, MLB 11 could be perfect, but for now, MLB 10 is just the best.

In all seriousness, MLB 10: The Show takes baseball fans somewhere they were dying to go and does it in such style. Everything about this game screams perfect, but it all depends on what type of baseball fan you are and how much patience you're willing to give.

MLB 10: The Show may still be the best overall baseball game out there, but it's in a holding pattern this year and has some serious problems with online play.
With a few blemishes, MLB 10: The Show can't obtain the baseball perfection that it did in previous years. However, you definitely shouldn't miss it. The gameplay is still superb (especially with the new catcher and pick-off controls), the visuals are eye-popping and the options, online or off, are enticing.

Sony still offers the superior baseball experience, but I actually enjoyed certain aspects of 2K10 a little bit more; unlike last year, this is no Yankees-Royals mismatch.

Keith M gave it a6:
MLB 10: The Show is a wonderful simulation of an MLB television broadcast. But the developers err so often and so meticulously on the side of realism...that they almost completed forget to add any "fun" into the game. The pacing of games is plodding. The announcing is dull. And the overall atmosphere is sterile. As a simulation of baseball, there's probably no game that does it better. But as a piece of interactive entertainment, you'll be bored silly before the first inning is over. Save your money.
Jim I gave it a9:
feels better than last year. pitches miss where they should. that's the biggest thing i noticed. a late release = low pitch. early = high. that didn't happen last year. after 2 games, fielding is tough... i mean, my first game, double A... i SHOULDN'T be great, yet. watched my boy play "Catcher Calling the Game" and it worked well... an extra-inning win on a wild pitch while his catcher... was batting (run scored from third)... it was exciting... which baseball rarely is. so, that's a good thing.
Chris D gave it a10:
Got the game this morning and have been playing it all day. I played the heck out of MLB 09 the Show and this year's offering is measurably better! Love the catcher Road to the Show, HR Derby, and Music flexability.
John C gave it a10:
Forget it. This awesome game is a VAST improvement over the already excellent 09 version. X-box owners: read it and weep! The ante on everything from physics to animations to presentation to modes to replays has been. EVERYTHING that was great is better. PLUS lots of new stuff. BUY it NOW. If you don't have a PS3 buy one just for this game. If you have an X-box get a PS3 also. If you can't afford that SELL IT and GET A PS3 NOW!!! Seriously. I have had EVEREY baseball game ever made. Trust me. Like I said - forget it. YES - it's THAT good! HAHAHAHHA!!!!
