Everyeye.it
Again is a peculiar game. It gets close to an interactive novel, and it can catch the player's attention with a splendid story and some interesting characters.
Cing produced two of the DS's finest adventure games with Trace Memory and Hotel Dusk: Room 215, but AGAIN was just "meh." It's not a bad game, but it's not great either.
For all its faults, Again is an innovative adventure game worth playing and a sequel – which is hinted at – would be more than welcome.

This game has a clever premise with gameplay to support it, and even though the story falls way short of its promise, players who go into it with the right expectations will find a lot to like here.

Still, they're a fresh new twist that really make use of the DS hardware and, along with a good story/dialog, make picking up Again an open-and-shut case for budding crime-solvers with a taste for the unusual. [Apr 2010, p. 89]
Game Informer
Cing’s latest blend of game and novel could’ve been an intriguing “whodunit” if streamlined into a more digestible package. Instead, the glacial pace of weak plot development and the few poke-around puzzles in between left much to be desired.
Again is a mediocre game that provides nothing. Its story is nowhere near good enough to justify the interactive novel approach, the "spot the difference" psychic gimmick is miserable and sleep-inducing, and the characters themselves look like they've all escaped from a mental hospital and are playing around in the costume department of a community theater. Hotel Dusk this isn't.

Again is a staggering disappointment in most accounts due to its crawling pace and uninteresting concept.

You're better off reading a book than playing this flawed interactive crime novel.
Read Full Review >Cheat Code Central
For all of its criminal procedural trappings, Again is about as exciting as watching Matlock re-runs in a seniors' assisted living facility.

Leaden and clumsy. [June 2010, p.62]
GameTrailers
Again lacks almost all of the elements that made Cing's previous games stand out amongst fans and critics alike. This dull, plodding experience isn't worth your time or money. Given the lack of meaningful interactive segments, you're better off just reading an actual thriller.

On paper, "Again" could have been something so much more but in the end, it ends up being nothing more than a boring game that doesn’t do enough to hold your interest.
Full of bad adventure game cliches, mired in repetition, poor translation, and an utter lack of personality, Again is an inglorious end for the makers of Hotel Dusk.
The Nintendo DS is home to many great games, and its dual screen would seem a perfect fit for an interactive novel. Sadly, Again swings and misses at every opportunity with a poor story, laughable dialogue, clumsy puzzles, and pacing so slow you’ll doze off in the middle of a conversation.

Forget any notion of playing this "Again", there's very little here to justify even playing through once. [Issue#96, p.110]
Modojo
Again's graphics look dull and muddy, even for a game that's trying to be on the same level as CSI.
By the time the game ends, well after you wish it had, and with a cliff-hanger no less, you'll be more than happy to have it over, and not because a murderer's reign of terror has ended, but because your time with the game has.
